Suspension of November SNAP benefits
Hello Child Nutrition Sponsors,
The Alabama State Department of Education, Child Nutrition Programs, maintains contracts with four major food banks across the state. Through these partnerships, we are able to extend vital services to individuals and families in need throughout Alabama.
To assist families during this uncertain time, Feeding Alabama has developed an informational flyer outlining the suspension of November SNAP benefits and providing key resources for accessing food assistance. The flyers are included below for your convenience. Please share it within your site(s) to help ensure families are aware of the available support.
Our network remains committed to taking proactive steps to meet the needs of families and workers facing uncertainty. We deeply appreciate your continued efforts and partnership as we work together to serve Alabama’s communities during this challenging period.
FOCUS Act
This year, the Alabama Legislature passed the FOCUS Act, Act 2025-386 (“the Act”), codified at § 16-6K and § 16-40-13 Ala. Code (1975), which prohibits the use and operation of wireless communication devices (WCDs) on public school property during the instructional day, mandates that local boards of education adopt policies and requires that students complete a social media safety course.
Uniform & Backpack Policy
As we prepare for the upcoming 2025–2026 school year, we want to share important information regarding our student uniform policy. Life Academy is committed to fostering a focused and respectful learning environment, and student dress plays a key role in supporting that mission.
